Turner Hall by Pabst

September 26 2007

Great news (that I’ve been expecting for months) – historic Turner Hall is relaunching and being operated by the incredible crew running The Pabst and The Riverside. Check the OnMilwaukee.com article here.

Already stoked about two shows booked at the newly restored concert venue :

Northern Room – November 2, 2007
I’m excited to see these guys get to the next level, not just as the producer of their latest EP, Only Seconds, but as a genuine fan. I know they’re planning a few surprises for this show, and I hope to see a raucous crowd there showing them support as a Milwaukee-based outfit who are truly ready to take that jump to the next level.

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings – November 17, 2007
You’ve heard The Dap Kings but may not realize it (reminds me of another outfit’s music you’ve heard but prolly aren’t aware… Burst)… these guys are a huge part of the sound that Mark Ronson pulled together for Amy Winehouse’s incredible album. If you haven’t checked out her latest, Back To Black, forget all the tabloid crap that goes along with her career to date – the girl can sing her ass off, plain and simple, and I believe her record will be timeless when the dust settles in a few years. Ronson nailed it with his production, and the songs and performances are stellar.

Get out and support live music… and uber-props to Gary Witt and Matt Beringer of The Pabst for making Milwaukee a great place to see incredible live music!
